Mission

To work with the poor and marginalized section of the society especially women and children on the issue of their rights and livelihood security.

Area of operation

Diamond Harbour and surrounding gram panchayats in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, with relief work extending to nearby coastal blocks during cyclone and flood season.

Beneficiary focus

Women from low-income households, first-generation school learners, unemployed youth, elderly and destitute families, and disaster-affected communities.

Structure

How the organisation is arranged

A small governing board, programme coordinators and a large volunteer base in the villages we serve.

Board of Trustees

Chairperson, managing trustee, secretary, treasurer and programme trustees. Highest decision-making body of the trust.

Programme teams

Coordinators for skill training, education, women's livelihood, relief and the digital initiative.

Village volunteer network

Local volunteers who identify beneficiaries, run centres and manage distribution registers.

Accounts & compliance

Treasurer with an external accountant handles receipts, filings and the annual statement of accounts.

Records, minutes and registers for every rupee received and every beneficiary served.

Legal constitution

Registered as a Public Charitable Trust under the applicable Indian trust law, governed by a registered trust deed and a board of trustees.

Board of trustees

A managing trustee, chairperson, secretary, treasurer and programme trustees meet periodically and record minutes for every decision.

Financial control

All donations are received in the trust's bank account. Accounts are maintained annually and placed before the board for approval.

Programme accountability

Every training batch, relief drive and learning centre keeps beneficiary records, photographs and distribution registers.

Volunteer code of conduct

Volunteers and members must never collect money in the trust's name outside official bank channels.

Grievance handling

Complaints can be raised directly with the managing trustee by phone or email and are reviewed by the board.

The trust receives donations only through its own bank account. No trustee, staff member or volunteer is authorised to collect cash personally in the name of the trust.
